Pandrol tie plates for a 5-1/2" rail base are designed for standard rail sections such as 115 RE, 119 RE, and 131 RE. These plates are commonly used on timber ties and are manufactured to AREMA material specifications with a standard 1:40 cant.
The most common configuration for this base size is the 15-inch rolled steel plate:
Part Number TPL-P26M-5.5": A 7 3/4" x 15" plate designed for 5-1/2" rail bases.
Punching Pattern: Features four 1" round holes for screw spikes and two 11/16" square holes.
Weight: The approximate weight for this specific punched plate is 23.4 lbs.
Dimensions: Standard length is 15 inches with a width of 7-3/4 inches.
For 5-1/2" rail bases, Pandrol typically utilizes the following systems:
Victor Baseplate System: A high-performance rolled steel plate with swaged cast shoulders. It provides a 37% larger load-bearing area than standard plates, which significantly reduces "plate cutting" into wood ties. It is compatible with e-Clip and Fastclip fasteners.
Rolled Steel Tie Plates: The standard option for "e" and PR series resilient rail clips. These can be shipped in pallets of 100.
Resilient Baseplate Assemblies: Often used in transit or vibration-sensitive areas (like the VIPA system), these can be configured for 115 RE (5-1/2" base) rail and offer significant lateral and vertical adjustability.
Signum Rail Fasteners specializes in rail tie plates, specifically for 115RE, 136RE, s49, UIC60 rail sections. We currently support North American infrastructure projects by providing forged, rolled and cast plates. We’d love to send over our latest technical data sheets and lead times for your maintenance cycle if you need.
