Pandrol tie plates are designed to be used with 5 1/2”, 6” or 100RB base rail, along with Pandrol rail clips and Pandrol screw spikes.
Pandrol tie plates for a 6-inch rail base are specifically engineered to secure heavy-haul rail (typically 132 RE, 136 RE, or 141 RE) to timber or concrete ties.
These rolled steel plates are manufactured to meet AREMA material specifications and typically feature a 1:40 cant (inward slope) to ensure proper wheel-to-rail contact.
Pandrol offers several configurations for this base size, often distinguished by their length and punching patterns:
Part Number TPL-P1-6": A 7 3/4" x 16" plate featuring six 11/16" square holes for standard spike fastening.
Part Number TPL-P2-6": A 7 3/4" x 16" plate with a mixed punching pattern—four 1" round holes and two 11/16" square holes.
Weight: The approximate weight for a punched 16-inch plate is 25.2 lbs.
Compatibility: Designed for use with Pandrol "e" and PR series resilient rail clips and screw spikes.
Victor Baseplate System: This is a hybrid system that combines the durability of a standard AREMA tie plate with the benefits of resilient fasteners like the e-Clip or Fastclip. It is available in 16" and 18" lengths and supports both screw and cut spikes.
Rolled Steel Tie Plates: These are the standard industry workhorses, often shipped in pallets of 100. They provide a flat, stable seat for the rail while the cast-in or swaged shoulders hold the clips in place.
Fastclip Baseplate: A more advanced option for concrete or steel structures that provides significant vertical (up to +70 mm) and lateral (+/- 12 mm) adjust-ability.
Signum Rail Fasteners specializes in rail tie plates, specifically for 115RE, 136RE, s49, UIC60 rail sections. We currently support North American infrastructure projects by providing forged, rolled and cast plates.
