For UIC60 (60E1) rail, 6-hole joint bars are the standard for high-performance track sections. They provide the necessary length and clamping force to handle the high longitudinal and vertical stresses associated with 60 kg/m rail profiles.
The standard 6-hole joint bar for this profile is technically designated as the U85 type.
Contoured Profile: The bars are forged with a specific internal shape that fits precisely into the "fishing" area (the space between the rail head and base) of the UIC60 rail.
Structural Rigidity: The 900 mm length distributes the axle load over a wider area of the ballast and sleepers, preventing "joint dip" and reducing maintenance costs.
Standard Punching: The six holes are typically circular, spaced to allow for thermal expansion gaps between the rail ends.
Standard Steel Joint Bars: Used for general structural connections on mainline tracks.
Insulated Joint Bars: Essential for track signaling; these are either "glued" with high-strength resin or use nylon bushings to prevent electrical current from passing between rail sections.
Compromise (Step) Bars: Used specifically when joining a UIC60 rail section to a smaller rail, such as a UIC54.
In addition of length 800 mm and 90mm joint bars for Rail UIC60, Signum Rail-Fastening is also able to provide length 920 mm and 940 mm joint bars for Rail UIC60.
